Itinerary of Delhi Mathura Vrindavan Agra Tour Package 3 Days

Day 1: Delhi to Mathura

First Stop: Gokul

Your initial destination is Gokul that is 10 km away of Mathura. A beautiful village on the banks of the Yamuna River and is connected to Lord Krishna’s childhood. Lord Krishna is believed to have spent his early life in this place in the hands of his foster mother Yashoda. Gokul is very crowded during Krishna Janmashtami and Nandotsav. The major attractions here are:

Day 3: Mathura - Agra - Delhi

On your Agra tour you will first visit the Taj Mahal, a love monument. The beautiful white marble monument was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. Next Stop: Agra Fort

Emperor Akbar constructed this fort in the 16th century, and it is an ideal illustration of the Mughal architecture. There are beautiful palaces, mosques and courtyards that can be found inside the fort.

Afternoon Visit to Fatehpur Sikri

Following lunch, drive to Fatehpur Sikri, an hour or so away, outside Agra. This former capital of the Mughals is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that was constructed in the 16th century by Akbar. The characteristics of this place are red sandstone and history. The main attractions in this area are:

  • Buland Darwaza: The main entrance to Fatehpur Sikri is a 40 meter high gateway.
  • Diwan-i-Khas: A private audience hall with a central pillar.
  • Jodha Bai Palace (Mariam-uz-Zamani Palace): A palace with Hindu and Mughal architecture.
  • Tomb of Sheikh Salim Chishti: A tomb of the Sufi saint surrounded by marble work.

You will be back to Delhi in the evening, after Fatehpur Sikri. In the evening it will take approximately 3-4 hours to get to your preferred area in the city of Delhi.
